  1. Administrator

    The County Administrator is appointed by the County Legislature to oversee and coordinate the Cayuga County Government operations.

    The County Clerk is the Clerk of the Supreme and County Court. The main function of the County Clerk’s Office is that of record keeper for the County.

  7. District Attorney

    The District Attorney is responsible for handling the prosecution of all violations of the New York State Penal and Vehicle and Traffic Law that occur within the county, including: Felonies, Misdemeanors, Violations and Traffic Offenses. The District Attorney is the legal advisor to the grand jury and police agencies in the county, with the ultimate goal of ensuring that justice is accomplished for everyone.

  8. Emergency Services

    The Cayuga County Office of Emergency Services is the County Government Agency charged with supporting and promoting an organized, systematic approach to Emergency Planning, Preparedness, Mitigation, Response and Recovery in the event of a natural or man-made disaster in Cayuga County. We also provide training a wide range of training support to fire departments and Emergency Medical System [EMS] agencies throughout the County and assist in coordinating the efforts of state and local public safety and health agencies.

    The Cayuga County E-911 Emergency Communications Department provides timely and appropriate responses to requests for public safety assistance throughout Cayuga County.

  10. The Employment and Training Department provides a variety of services and programs, including classroom and on-the-job training.

    Cayuga County Highway Department is responsible for maintaining 508 miles of county roads and 43 bridges including; pavement preservation, snow removal, right of way maintenance, adequate drainage, issuing permits and the installation of driveways to ensure safe roadways.

    The Cayuga County Historian's Office provides information and services to historical organizations, Town and Village Historians and the general public.

  15. Information Technology

    The Information Technology Department is responsible for delivering information and services to county departments, offices, municipalities, residents, visitors and businesses at work, at home and in the community.

  16. Mental Health

    The mission of the Cayuga County Community Mental Health Center is to provide quality behavioral health services to Cayuga County residents. Our professionals treat, monitor, and support individuals with behavioral health needs toward the goal of improving quality of life while servicing the needs of the community.

  17. Motor Vehicles

  18. Office for the Aging

    The Cayuga County Office for the Aging promotes the maximum well-being, independence and dignity of our older community members. We provide community education, long term care options counseling, individualized guidance with Medicare choices, in-home services, connections to community providers and caregiver support services to those who are 60 and over and their families.

The Cayuga County Department of Planning & Economic Development is a multi-disciplined Planning & Economic Development Office with a staff of eight professionals committed to providing planning, development and land use assistance to the 23 Towns and 9 Villages within the County with a focus on improving the quality of life in our communities and protecting our natural resources.

  20. Probation

    Probation has a role in enhancing community safety and reducing recidivism.

  21. Public Works

    Mission: The Department of Public Works provides essential services to the citizens of Cayuga County in a prompt, courteous, safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The Department of Public Works, through its dedicated employees, strives to plan, design, build, maintain, and operate public infrastructure in a manner that respects the environment and the ability of government to adequately preserve these assets for succeeding generations.

  22. Purchasing

    The Cayuga County Purchasing Department will maintain an efficient Purchasing Department engaged in the procurement of goods and services according to State Statutes and approved County Policies and Procedures.

    The Cayuga County Office of Real Property Services provides information and services to the general public, local assessors and other government agencies

  25. Sheriff

    The mission of the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is to secure and maintain a safe community and enhance the quality of life of all citizens by providing responsive, caring, unbiased, and professional Law Enforcement, Custody, Correctional, Security, and Civil Enforcement services. The Sheriff’s Office is committed to utilizing community partnerships to accomplish this mission and to maintain the trust and respect of those we serve.

  27. STOP-DWI

    The goal of the Cayuga County STOP-DWI program is to reduce the rate of alcohol and other drug-related injuries and fatalities through the creation and funding of programs relating to enforcement, prosecution, rehabilitation, public information, and education.

  28. Treasurer

    Extensive records are accurately kept, which makes the Cayuga County Treasurer's Office a small but essential part of Cayuga County Government operations.

  29. Veterans' Service Agency

    The Veteran's Service department provides resources for veterans.

  30. Youth Bureau

    The Cayuga County Youth Bureau has a broad legislative mandate to promote the physical, emotional, and social well being of the youth in Cayuga County.
