Shadowfang Keep Dungeon Guide (2024)

In Cataclysm, Shadowfang Keep underwent a revamp, changing from the previousWorgen stronghold to now being overrun with the Undead. Players will need toexplore its dark halls and face off against the cursed inhabitants to unravelthe mysteries within.

Shadowfang Keep is found in Silverpine Forest on the Southwestern edge of thezone. Alliance players will need to fly to Hillsbrad Foothills first, or simplyqueue up for the dungeon.

Here we will give you a full rundown of what you can expect from each of thebosses found here on both Normal and Heroic difficulties as well as the itemsthey drop.

• Asphyxiate
• Stay of Execution

Shortly after being engaged, and periodically throughout the fight,Baron Ashbury will use Asphyxiate on the entire group.This will deal massive damage to the entire group, leaving everyone at 1 health.Immediately following Asphyxiate, Baron Ashbury willchannel Stay of Execution, healing himself any anyone nearby everysecond. Allow 1 or 2 ticks of the heal to go off before interrupting to toprevent him from healing himself too much.

Be ready to also interrupt any Pain and Suffering casts as thesecan easily kill low health targets when the damage ramps up. Baron Ashburywill also cast Wracking Pain from time-to-time, dealing Shadowdamage to all enemies and increasing their Shadow damage taken by 20% perstack. Lastly, at 25% health, he will cast Calamity,transforming, dealing Shadow damage to all enemies every second, and increasingall Shadow damage taken by targets by 1% per second. This can quicklylead to a wipe if you have low damage or you transition at 25% rightafter a Asphyxiate.

Baron Silverlaine will often use Summon Worgen Spirit, callingeither Odo the Blindwatcher, Razorclaw the Butcher,Rethilgore, or Wolf Master Nandos to aid him in battle. Simplyhave the tank pick these Worgens up and continue to burn Baron Silverlainedown. If your tank gets debuffed with Veil of Shadow, quicklydispel it as it reduces healing received by 75%.

Commander Springvale starts of with a Wailing Guardsmanand Tormented Officer at his side, and will frequently call in 2more to aid him throughout the fight. These adds need to be focused downquickly before they buff the boss with Unholy Empowerment.Commander Springvale himself will use Desecration on arandom target, which must be moved out of quickly.

When Commander Springvale reaches 3 stacks of Unholy Empowerment either through the adds or from Malefic Strike, he will use one of two abilities. Shield of the Perfidious will blast a cone attack in front of him,dealing high Shadow damage to all targets in the area. Word of Shamewill debuff a random target, dealing 5% of their health every 3 secondsuntil the end of the fight.

Lord Walden will be constantly casting either Conjure Poisonous Mixture or Conjure Frost Mixture,giving him a vial that he will throw at random throughout the fight. Be aware ofthese projectiles and quickly move away from them. He will also throw out Ice Shards all over the room, avoid being in their indicatedlanding locations. Sometimes he will instead cast a Conjure Mystery Toxin, creating either aGreen Mixture or aRed Mixture. If it's aGreen Mixture, players must keep moving;if it's a Red Mixture, players must notmove.

Start the fight by pulling Lord Godfrey down into the bottom of theroom. He will frequently use Summon Bloodthirsty Ghouls to callmultiple Bloodthirsty Ghouls to aid him in combat. After summoningthese ghouls, Lord Godfrey will cast Pistol Barrage,dealing high damage to all targets in a cone in front of him. The tankshould try to drag the Bloodthirsty Ghouls into the Pistol Barrage to quickly kill them. Lastly, interrupt the Cursed Bullets casts as these deal high Shadow damage to randomtargets.

Starting in Cataclysm, dungeon quests are found directly inside the dungeonand have no quest chains required. This means you can simply queue up for thedungeon and grab all of the available quests inside without needing to completelong-winded, complicated quest chains! Achievement	Description
Bullet Time	Defeat 12 Bloodthirsty Ghouls with Pistol Barrage and then defeat LordGodfrey in Shadowfang Keep on Heroic Difficulty.
Pardon Denied	Defeat Baron Ashbury without letting him heal with Stay of Execution inShadowfang Keep on Heroic Difficulty.
To the Ground!	Defeat Commander Springvale without allowing him to receive UnholyEmpowerment in Shadowfang Keep on Heroic Difficulty.
Shadowfang Keep	Defeat Lord Godfrey.
